You've probably read stories on the development of the Volkswagen Beetle prior to
World War II by a remarkable design team headed by Dr. Ferdinand Porsche and
subsequent postwar introduction of the “people's car” to the U.S.
market in 1949. What dedicated VW enthusiast isn't familiar with the now famous
advertising campaigns of the 60's generated by Doyle-Dane-Bernbach that urged
Americans to “think small”. By 1965 Volkswagen sales in the U.S.
topped the one million mark for the first time, and the numbers stayed strong
for nearly a decade. Chances are that if you're reading this catalog, you
have more than an arms length appreciation for Volkswagen automobiles. Most
likely, you've come to embrace the VW as one of the most important contributions
to automotive history. It was during the VW's heyday,
1968 to be exact, that BUGPACK was founded in a Fountain Valley, California
